Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
Voice of Wheels is an app and service run by Solution Infotech India Pvt. Ltd., Delhi, India ("we", "us"). It lets truck drivers record videos about the problems they face on the road. We review each video and publish the approved ones on our YouTube channel. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
YouTube API Services
Voice of Wheels uses YouTube API Services to publish approved videos on the Voice of Wheels YouTube channel and to show that channel's videos in the app. By using Voice of Wheels you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Information handled by YouTube and Google is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
The app does not sign you in to YouTube and does not access your own YouTube account or channel. Videos are published on our channel, using our own authorisation.
Information we collect
When you register
- Mobile number, confirmed with a one-time code sent through Google Firebase Authentication.
- Your Google account's name and email address, when you link your Google account. We do not receive your Google password.
- Your handle, the public name you choose. It cannot be changed later.
If you add a profile photo
Adding a profile photo is optional. If you add one, we keep the photo you choose, cropped and made smaller on your phone. See Your profile photo for who can see it.
When you send a video
- The video itself, including anything it shows or records (for example your face and voice, and the place around you).
- The title and description you write.
- The state and city where the problem happened.
- Technical details of the video: its length, size and orientation, and when it was sent.
Your location
If you allow it, the app uses your phone's location only on your phone, to suggest the state and city for your video. Your exact location (GPS coordinates) is never sent to us or stored by us. Only the state and city you confirm are sent. You can refuse location access and type the place yourself.
Created by our service
- The status of each video (under review, published or rejected), the reviewer's decision and the reason for a rejection.
- How many of your videos were approved or rejected, and whether your account has been blocked from uploading under our content guidelines.
- Basic server records (such as the time and address of requests) kept to run and protect the service.
How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To receive, review and publish your videos, and to show you their status in the app.
- To apply limits (how many videos can wait for review, and how many can be sent each day) and our content guidelines.
- To contact you about your account or your videos, if needed.
- To keep the service working, safe and free from abuse.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
What is made public
When a video is approved, it is published on the Voice of Wheels YouTube channel, where anyone can watch it. The published video shows its title, a description, the state and city, and your handle as the person who recorded it. Your mobile number, email address and Google account name are never published. Once published, a video is subject to YouTube's own terms and policies.
Your profile photo
- Your profile photo is shown inside the Voice of Wheels app only. It is never published on YouTube.
- You and our reviewers can always see it.
- Other app users see it next to your handle on your videos, unless you switch off Show my photo with my videos in your Profile. Then they see the first letter of your handle instead.
- You can change or remove the photo at any time in your Profile. A replaced or removed photo is deleted from our server.
- We may remove a photo that breaks our Terms.
Who we share information with
- Google: Firebase Authentication (to verify your mobile number and Google account) and YouTube API Services (to publish approved videos and show the channel's videos). See the Google Privacy Policy.
- Our hosting provider, which runs the servers where your information and videos are stored, under our instructions.
- Authorities, only when the law requires it.
Our reviewers, who are our staff, see your videos, the details you send and your handle, so that they can review them.
Information stored on your phone
The app stores some information on your phone so that it works smoothly: your sign-in session (managed by Google Firebase), your chosen language, a copy of your account details and recent video list so they show quickly, and videos that have not finished sending, so that sending can resume. Unsent videos are kept in the app's private storage and are removed once they have been sent or discarded. The app does not use advertising identifiers or tracking cookies.
Our website does not use tracking cookies. The admin panel, used only by our staff, uses a session cookie to keep them signed in.
How long we keep information
- Video files on our server are deleted once a decision has been made (published or rejected), or when you withdraw the video. A published video remains on YouTube.
- Unfinished uploads are deleted after 48 hours.
- Your profile photo is kept until you change or remove it, or delete your account.
- Account details and the record of your videos are kept while your account is open. If you delete your account, we keep a minimal record (your mobile number, email address and approval and rejection counts) so that limits and blocking cannot be avoided by registering again.
Your rights and choices
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to access, correct or erase your personal data, withdraw your consent, and raise a grievance. To do this, contact us using the details below. Withdrawing consent means we can no longer provide the service to you; it does not affect what was done before.
- You can withdraw a video while it is under review, from My videos in the app.
- To ask for a published video to be removed from our channel, contact us.
- You can turn off location access for the app at any time in your phone's settings.
- You can remove Voice of Wheels' access to your Google account at any time on the Google security settings page.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to our servers and admin panel is limited to authorised staff. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Age
Voice of Wheels is only for people 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If the changes are important, we will tell you in the app.
